Job title: Hardware Platform Applications Engineer - Military & Aerospace
About the Role In Intel Government Technologies, you will join the Hardware Platform Applications Engineering team as a Hardware Platform Applications Engineer (PAE). This role focuses on expanding Intel's footprint into military and aerospace markets by directly engaging customers, developing PoCs/demos, and collaborating with platform and chipset software architects to define hardware requirements.
What You'll Do
- Directly engage customers to provide on-site power-on support for customer-developed systems
- Participate in defining and developing Proof-of-Concept systems (and demos)
- Replicate and debug customer-reported platform issues
- Develop and present technical collateral to customers, ecosystem providers, and the sales channel
- Work with platform and chipset software architects to finalize platform hardware requirements
- Participate in new product and program meetings
- Participate in customer platform schematic and layout reviews
- Provide support to analysis teams in the context of field quality return issues
- Make use of laboratory measurement equipment during debug activities
- Operate Linux-based machines and tools to build and flash software components and facilitate debug activities
- Work closely with customers on-site and communicate findings effectively
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: US Citizenship required; ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance; Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field; 3+ years of end-to-end platform hardware (board) design experience (circuit design, schematic capture, platform design guideline creation, bring-up/power-on debug)
- Preferred Qualifications: Active US Government Security Clearance (Secret+), postgraduate degree, experience building technical relationships with customers, ability to communicate technical concepts to external military and aerospace customers, leading a hardware or software power-on effort on-site with a customer (including debug of power-on boot flows and CPU interfaces), strong lab debug skills with debuggers/protocol analyzers/high-speed scopes/logic analyzers, SI/PI simulations experience, familiarity with Intel power delivery architecture and SoC bring-up challenges, experience with Government sponsor agencies and DIB
- Additional: US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance; willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
Nice to Have
- Active security clearance beyond minimum, and broader experience working with government/military customers
- Post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Experience leading hardware/software power-on efforts on-site, including debugging power-on boot flows and CPU interfaces
