On-site

About this role

About the Role Arista recruits interns and new graduates for software and hardware roles across multiple offices, including hardware internships in Santa Clara, CA. Interns will work on challenging projects in a high-performance, collaborative environment and own their contributions from design through bring-up. What You'll Do

  • Own your project from design to implementation to testing, with unambiguous ownership of the work you deliver.
  • Work on cutting-edge designs with 10+ gigabit signals, high-current power supplies, high-layer count PCB stackups, dense layouts, thermal analysis, and CPLDs.
  • Interns are often tasked with designing test boards used on manufacturing lines, giving you real product ownership.
  • Use internal tools to test on hardware; rely on automated tests that help ensure reliability (Arista runs over 20,000 tests per day).
  • Learn in a culture of knowledge sharing; mentors will support you as you solve tough problems in a fast-paced, high-speed networking environment.
  • You’ll join a broad scope of software and hardware projects, and have the opportunity to make a real impact as a new grad or intern. What We're Looking For
  • Interest in hardware engineering and high-speed board design; desire to learn and take ownership.
  • Ability to work on challenging projects and collaborate with peers and mentors.
  • Strong communication and teamwork; comfortable asking for help and sharing knowledge.
  • Enthusiasm for solving complex problems in a high-speed networking environment. Compensation & Benefits
  • Onsite offices with a game room, board games, foosball, and the latest video game consoles; fully stocked break rooms with snacks, sodas, fruits, juices, and caffeinated beverages; and open seating to encourage collaboration.
  • Spacious cafeteria with fresh and affordable dining options; onsite gym; discounted lunches.
  • Flexible working hours and flexible vacation policies; intern events each term including sailing, hiking, go-karting, LAN parties, and more.
  • Hackathons (Hack-a-Switches) held twice a year; 24-hour sessions to brainstorm unique applications for Arista switches.
  • A culture of mentorship: each full-time engineer is encouraged to mentor at least one intern per year, fostering skills development and real-world impact.
