About this role
About the Role Join Alstom as a full-time Hardware Designer based in Stockholm. You will develop and maintain wayside hardware, designing electronic Printed Board Assemblies and cable harnesses for Object Controllers used worldwide, with emphasis on safety, reliability and compliance with harsh environmental and industry standards.
What You'll Do
- Sustain existing HW products: Analyze and resolve incidents from field return/production and propose design improvements.
- Analyze the impact of obsolete components with Component Engineering and propose replacements; perform redesigns of existing products due to obsolescence.
- Develop new HW products: Specify, architecture, design and document electronic HW. Deliver electrical schematic, Bill of Materials and define PCB routing constraints. Produce PCB manufacturing files (gerbers, ODB++, assembly/mounting drawings, drill, P&P).
- Collaborate with Industrialization engineers to ensure products' manufacturability, testability and repairability during design.
- Perform bring-up and smoke-tests together with HW and SW colleagues in lab environment.
- For SIL1-SIL4 products perform FTA / FMECA analyses together with Safety Engineers.
- Together with RAM Engineers provide evidence of compliance to Reliability, Availability and Maintainability requirements.
- Remain informed of evolving technologies through techno watch and apply processes and industry standards.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s, or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, or related area; At least 5 years of experience in electronics design.
- Experience in electronics design within Power, Digital, Analog/Mixed Signal, Safety-Critical electronics.
- Experience applying international standards for functional safety, EMC, reliability, environmental conditions, manufacturing.
- Experience performing SPICE simulations.
- Technical writing and familiarity with Change Management.
- Experience designing schematics and PCBs in ECAD tools.
- Experience working in lab environment.
- Fluency in English; Swedish is a plus.
- Experience programming FPGAs/PLDs is a plus.
- Experience managing requirements in DOORS is a plus.
