About the Role Volt is hiring a Handyman in Fremont, CA to perform maintenance and repair tasks on our properties, support other trades, and ensure safety. The role involves routine maintenance, installing appliances, painting walls, and pulling cables, plus assisting other trades with more complex projects. This is a Full-time, Contract onsite role.
What You'll Do
- Perform maintenance and repairs on properties (e.g., fix plumbing issues, install appliances, paint walls, pull cables).
- Assist other tradespeople with electrical wiring, HVAC installation, or carpentry work.
- Conduct routine maintenance on properties (e.g., CCTV cameras, network connections, pulling cables, replacing light bulbs, building furniture/equipment).
- Safely operate equipment such as a forklift or lift.
- Report major issues requiring professional intervention.
- Adapt to a fast-moving environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
- Ability to travel to and between buildings as needed.
- Working knowledge of tools and equipment (drills, saws, hammers, etc.).
- Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and stay safe and productive.
- Detail-oriented and well organized; able to handle multiple tasks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOE (USD).
