About the Role The Gym Monitor works at the North YMCA to lead youth-focused activities, ensure safety, and support the YMCA mission by providing engaging, age-appropriate supervision and instruction for youth sports and activities. What You'll Do
- Instruct classes, supervise volunteers, and maintain equipment for youth sports/activities as directed by the supervisor
- Lead energizing, safe, and educational practices and games to support youth development
- Answer questions from participants/parents to help them achieve their goals
- Keep attendance and progress records and assist in organizing the field/gym area before and after programs
- Officiate matches and supervise volunteers involved in the activity
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures and respond to emergencies as needed
- Build positive relationships with participants and parents and encourage ongoing involvement
