Job Title: Gym Instructor / Lifeguard Location: Osogbo, Osun Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We are seeking a responsible, energetic, and safety-conscious Gym Instructor / Lifeguard to join our hotel team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting guests with their fitness activities, maintaining the gym area and equipment, and ensuring the safety of guests using the swimming pool.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist hotel guests using the gym and swimming pool facilities.

• Provide basic fitness guidance and demonstrate proper use of gym equipment.

• Develop simple and appropriate workout routines based on guests' fitness levels and needs.

• Monitor guests during swimming activities and respond quickly to emergencies.

• Enforce all swimming pool safety rules and regulations.

• Perform basic first aid and CPR when necessary, where trained and certified.

• Inspect the swimming pool and surrounding areas regularly for safety hazards.

• Ensure gym equipment and facilities are clean, safe, and properly maintained.

• Report damaged or faulty gym and pool equipment to management immediately.

• Keep accurate records of incidents, maintenance issues, and other relevant activities.

• Maintain cleanliness and good order within the gym and pool areas.

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

• Assist with fitness or recreational activities organized by the hotel.

• Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by management.

• Required Skills and Competencies

• Good swimming skills and strong knowledge of pool safety procedures.

• Basic knowledge of fitness, exercise, and gym equipment.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies.

• Basic first aid and CPR knowledge is an advantage.

• Physically fit, active, and energetic.

• Strong observation and attention to detail.

• Good customer service and hospitality skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Good personal hygiene and professional appearance.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Gym Instructor, Fitness Trainer, Lifeguard, or in a similar hospitality/recreational role is preferred.
• Experience working in a hotel, gym, resort, swimming pool, or recreational facility will be an advantage.
• Candidates with relevant certifications and practical experience may be considered.
