About this role
Gucci, part of the Kering group, is seeking a Ready To Wear (RTW) Ironer for the Novara Atelier in Novara, Italy. Reporting to the Ready To Wear Samples Coordinator, this role focuses on ironing activities across the initial prototype, pre-production, and sample stages of garment development. The RTW ironer contributes to early collection development by supporting the creation of prototypes and sample garments in line with the instructions from Product Development and Creative teams. The position may offer a gross annual salary of €32,000, with potential for higher compensation based on experience and competencies.
Responsibilities
- Take care of the ironing process of the first prototype
- Evaluate and implement constructive changes aimed at improving the fit, in collaboration with the manager, pattern makers and technicians
- Iron the sample items according to the defined technical specifications
- Iron pre-production garments, ensuring compliance with industrialization requirements
- Guarantee high quality standards and executive accuracy during all stages of garment development
- Collaborate with pattern makers and sample technicians to transform creative concepts into finished products
- Support the development of collections from prototyping to the creation of samples
- Accurately interpret and apply technical and production specifications during the ironing process
- Contribute to meeting development timelines while maintaining high quality and accuracy
- Promote teamwork and ongoing collaboration with all functions involved in collection development
- Manage ironing of high-quality garments for collections with meticulous attention to detail
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of the clothing production cycle with a focus on the ironing phase
- Diploma in Clothing Technology, Tailoring or equivalent qualification
- Experience in ironing and finishing activities
- Ability to use the main ironing machines
- Good knowledge of fabrics, yarns and garment construction techniques
- Speed and precision in the analysis and interpretation of paper patterns
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent knowledge of Italian; knowledge of a second language is a plus
