About the Role

  • The Growth Manager will be responsible for developing and executing IOT Academy's growth strategy and translating business objectives into measurable results. This is a hands-on management role for an experienced growth professional who understands how to identify opportunities, develop strategies, execute experiments, analyse performance, and scale initiatives that work. You will work closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams across Marketing, Sales, Product, Customer Experience, and Operations to improve the entire customer journey, from awareness and acquisition through conversion, engagement, retention, and revenue.
  • The successful candidate will combine commercial judgement, analytical thinking, digital growth expertise, and strong execution. You should be comfortable taking ownership of growth targets and being accountable for measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Growth Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and own the company's growth strategy across customer acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention, and revenue.

  • Translate company growth objectives into actionable initiatives, experiments, campaigns, and measurable KPIs.

  • Identify, test, optimise, and scale growth channels based on performance and commercial impact.

  • Build a structured experimentation process for testing new growth ideas, measuring results, and scaling successful initiatives.

  • Identify barriers to growth and work with relevant teams to address them.

  • Develop initiatives to expand the company's customer base, products, and market reach.

  • Customer Acquisition & Conversion

  • Develop strategies to increase qualified leads and customer acquisition across relevant online and offline channels.

  • Optimise acquisition channels including paid advertising, organic content, email, referrals, partnerships, communities, and other relevant channels.

  • Analyse the customer acquisition funnel and identify opportunities to improve conversion at each stage.

  • Monitor customer acquisition cost (CAC), conversion rates, channel performance, and return on marketing investment.

  • Work with Marketing and Sales to improve lead generation, lead quality, nurturing, and conversion.

  • Customer Engagement & Retention

  • Develop initiatives that improve customer onboarding, engagement, satisfaction, retention, and lifetime value.

  • Analyse customer behaviour to identify patterns, friction points, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Work with Product, Customer Experience, and Operations to improve the customer journey.

  • Develop strategies for re-engagement, referrals, repeat purchases, cross-selling, and other retention opportunities.

  • Use customer feedback and behavioural insights to recommend improvements to products and services.

  • Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with educational institutions, professional bodies, organisations, communities, businesses, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Lead partnership outreach, proposals, presentations, negotiations, and relationship management.

  • Develop partnership models that generate customers, revenue, market access, or strategic value.

  • Identify new markets, customer segments, distribution channels, and revenue opportunities.

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of business development opportunities.

  • Data, Analytics & Performance

  • Establish and monitor key growth metrics and dashboards across acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention, revenue, and channel performance.

  • Track metrics including CAC, customer lifetime value (CLV/LTV), conversion rates, retention, engagement, revenue, and return on investment.

  • Analyse campaign, customer, sales, and product data to identify opportunities and performance gaps.

  • Translate data into clear recommendations and actions.

  • Provide regular growth performance reports, insights, forecasts, and recommendations to the CEO and management.

  • Ensure growth decisions are supported by reliable data rather than assumptions.

  • Market Intelligence

  • Conduct ongoing market, customer, and competitor research.

  • Identify emerging trends, changing customer needs, competitor activity, and potential market opportunities.

  • Use market intelligence to inform pricing, positioning, product, marketing, and expansion decisions.

  • Identify underserved customer segments and opportunities for new products or services.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, Customer Experience, and Operations to deliver growth objectives.

  • Coordinate cross-functional growth initiatives from strategy through execution.

  • Establish clear targets, responsibilities, timelines, and performance measures for growth projects.

  • Provide direction and support to team members involved in growth initiatives.

  • Build scalable processes and systems that support sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in growth, growth marketing, business development, commercial strategy, digital marketing, product growth, or a related role.

  • Demonstrable experience owning and delivering measurable growth outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of customer acquisition, conversion optimisation, retention, digital marketing, partnerships, and revenue growth.

  • Proven experience developing and executing growth strategies rather than solely supporting campaigns.

  • Strong commercial and analytical judgement.

  • Experience using data to identify opportunities, make decisions, and measure performance.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with analytics and reporting tools.

  • Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation, email marketing, analytics, and other growth technology.

  • Strong understanding of digital acquisition channels and performance marketing.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Strong project management and organisational abilities.

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Communications, Technology, or a related discipline.
