Job description
The main purpose of the job is to manage the TT Club and ITIC group-wide insurance policies to the benefit of global operations. This can involve liaising with our insurers, insurance brokers, law firms and local teams to ensure that operations maintain appropriate coverage for freight forwarding, ship agency and ad hoc services, as required. The job exists to ensure that operations are aware of the various aspects of group cover and to provide practical advice to operations from the contract negotiations stage through to any potential claims that may arise, inclusive of claims management procedures.
The job contributes towards reducing the risk and/or exposure of operations when conducting business by implementing and encouraging business managers to take into account insurance considerations when winning new business or conducting existing business.
Job requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims Management: Provide timely claims management advice to local operations regarding any existing or potential claims, offer draft wording and specialist advice concerning client communication, considering commercial considerations as well as aspects of insurance coverage.

Liaising with Global Operations: Maintain relationships with business teams at global operational sites.

Coordinating with Insurers and Insurance Broker: Maintain relationships with both our insurers and insurance brokers and ensure the alignment between all parties.

Renewal Negotiation: Ensure a detailed calendar of relevant expiry dates is kept alongside relevant and accurate date to elevate renewal discussions.

Provision of Specialist Advice: Provide specialist advice concerning risk mitigation, aspects of insurance coverage and claims management with a practical focus and commercial mindset.

Maintenance of Documentation: Take ownership of all group insurance documentation, including depositories both physical and within the insurance section of the GAC Group Intranet.

Risk Management: Take an active role in risk mitigation efforts and detailing areas of concern with senior management.

Work Smarter: Be vocal in addressing problems and areas where efficiencies can be gained. Challenge existing processes and procedures.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education: Degree-level education in insurance or a related field.

Experience: 3–5 years specialising in insurance matters, claims handling and administration.

Skills

Knowledge of insurance principles; claims handling and administration; insurance policy renewals and coverage; risk mitigation; advanced Microsoft Office skills.
