Job Summary
- The Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) provides strategic financial leadership to the organization, ensuring long-term financial sustainability, operational excellence, and strong governance.
- Overseeing corporate finance functions including financial planning, reporting, treasury, tax, risk management, investor relations, and capital allocation, the role ensures compliance with financial standards, drives business performance, and serves as a key advisor to the CEO and Board.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization’s long-term financial strategy, leading financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board based on financial analysis and projections, guiding decisions on investments, capital structure, and growth opportunities.
- Oversee financial operations including accounting, audits, treasury, tax, and reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, improve profitability, cost efficiency, and return on capital, and lead corrective action where needed.
- Establish and monitor internal controls, identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, and ensure full compliance with regulatory, statutory, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage capital-raising initiatives (debt, equity, structured finance), oversee cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization, and maintain strong relationships with banks and investors.
- Partner with business units to drive financial discipline and decision-making, presenting financial insights to the Board and key stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams, building a high-performing finance organization that supports business growth.
- Drive EMS and OH&S objectives, including a 10% decrease in total waste generation by 2026 and a 20% reduction in Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) by the end of the next fiscal year.
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- ACCA, CPA, ACA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- 12–18+ years of progressive experience in senior finance roles.
- Strong record in financial strategy, corporate finance, and capital management.
- Experience in risk management, compliance, and financial operations.
- Prior experience in leadership roles within large or complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, forecasting, and analytics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and executive presence.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance) is an added advantage.
