Job title: Grinder Operator
About the Role The Grinder Operator (Roll Grinder Operator) reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for performing receiving inspection, resurfacing, and final inspection of leveler rolls. This role supports production quality and efficiency by ensuring rolls meet customer specifications.
What You'll Do
- Setup, grind, and polish leveler rolls blemish free to customer specifications.
- Inspect rolls before and after processing.
- Change grinding wheels.
- Check and adjust coolant.
- Operate various types of inspection equipment.
- Measure rolls for receiving inspection parameters, including a before Pro-mic report.
- Document all production and inspection activities on required forms.
- Maintain housekeeping of area and equipment.
- Perform ultrasound, surface finish, hardness, runout, and all other testing required and record results.
- Complete grinding report form.
- Prepare rolls for shipment per procedure.
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Physical requirements: as required to perform key result items; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
