Job title: Graduate Student Work-Study: Course Organization and Materials Management
About the Role This is a graduate student work-study role with Antioch University's School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy. The assistant will support course organization, materials management, research/resource development, scheduling, and student communications in a fully online format. Remote, part-time position (5-10 hours per week) with weekly supervision and feedback; start date 8/17/2026 and end date 6/1/2027.
What You'll Do
- Course Organization and Materials Management: Organize and maintain course resources, including readings, handouts, recorded materials, and supplementary documents.
- Assist with formatting and preparing course syllabi; upload/update syllabi to Brightspace; align Brightspace course page with current syllabus; organize course modules; create checklists; utilize Brightspace features to enhance student usability; focus on inclusive course design for equity and belonging.
- Research and Resource Development: Research and identify current, relevant course resources (articles, book chapters, videos, case studies, etc.); review and update resources each semester; prioritize materials representing diverse perspectives and voices across culture, ethnicity, race, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, erotic and relational diversity, socioeconomic status, and other marginalized populations. Maintain an organized resource library; present findings to the supervisor for review.
- Scheduling and Deadline Management: Attend weekly 1-hour supervision; schedule and coordinate appointments between the supervisor and enrolled students (office hours, individual check-ins, advising meetings); maintain and monitor the course calendar; proactively track upcoming deadlines; send reminders and follow-up communications as directed.
- Communication and Student Support: Respond to general, non-clinical student inquiries regarding course logistics, materials, and scheduling; route clinical, grading, or complex academic questions to the supervisor; assist with drafting course announcements for supervisor review.
- Confidentiality and Professional Standards: Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and information per FERPA and Antioch policy; perform duties in line with ethical standards of the counseling and therapy profession. Assist with other course-related administrative tasks within the supervisor’s official duties.
What We're Looking For
- Must be enrolled as a graduate student at Antioch University and eligible for Federal Work-Study funding.
- Demonstrated personal or academic interest in sex, sexuality, gender identity, and relational diversity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with online platforms and remote work tools (Zoom, email, Brightspace). Comfortable working fully online/remote with reliable internet access.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality; self-motivated and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have
- Prior enrollment in or satisfactory completion of DMT 6480 (Introduction to Couples and Sex Therapy) and/or DMT 5180 (GSERD Diversity in Therapy) or equivalent coursework.
- Previous experience in academic support, peer mentoring, or administrative roles.
- Familiarity with GSERD affirming and sex-positive frameworks.
- Experience formatting academic documents, syllabi, including Brightspace gradebook and discussion board setup.
- Experience working with neurodivergence in professional settings.
Compensation & Benefits
