Job title: Graduate Student Assistant, Course Organization & Materials Management (Remote)
About the Role The role supports online course operations for Antioch University's School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy. It is a 5-10 hour/week, remote, work-study position for a graduate student, from 8/17/2026 to 6/1/2027. The assistant will help organize course resources, update Brightspace, identify and curate diverse resources, manage scheduling, and support student communications, while maintaining FERPA confidentiality.
What You'll Do
- Course Organization and Materials Management: organize and maintain course resources (readings, handouts, recorded materials, and supplementary documents). Assist with formatting and preparing syllabi; upload/update syllabi to Brightspace; align Brightspace course page; organize modules; create checklists; apply inclusive course design principles.
- Research and Resource Development: identify current relevant course resources (articles, book chapters, videos, case studies, and more); review/update each semester; prioritize materials representing diverse perspectives; maintain organized resource library; present findings to supervisor for approval.
- Scheduling and Deadline Management: attend weekly 1-hour supervision; schedule and coordinate appointments; maintain course calendar; track deadlines; send reminders.
- Communication and Student Support: respond to general inquiries; route complex questions to supervisor; assist with drafting announcements.
- Confidentiality and Professional Standards: maintain strict confidentiality of student records per FERPA; adhere to ethical standards; perform duties within supervisor’s scope.
What We're Looking For
- Must be enrolled as a graduate student at Antioch University and demonstrate current eligibility for Federal Work-Study funding.
- Demonstrated personal or academic interest in sex, sexuality, gender identity, and relational diversity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Zoom, email, Brightspace; comfortable working in a fully online/remote environment; reliable internet access.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality; self-motivated and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have
- Prior enrollment in or satisfactory completion of DMT 6480 (Introduction to Couples and Sex Therapy) and/or DMT 5180 (GSERD Diversity in Therapy), or equivalent coursework.
- Previous experience in an academic support, peer mentoring, or administrative role.
- Familiarity with GSERD affirming and sex-positive clinical frameworks.
- Experience formatting academic documents and syllabi, including Brightspace grade book and discussion board setup.
- Experience working with neurodivergence in a professional setting.
