About the Role Graduate Software Engineer based in Glasgow, joining the Pronto team, the UK’s largest supplier of mobile police apps. You’ll work on Java and XSLT for Android applications and receive full training as part of a supportive, agile environment. What You'll Do
- Write Java, XSLT and use our in-house tools to produce Android applications.
- Be trained by experienced staff and work alongside our highly skilled team.
- Participate in the full software lifecycle: requirements capture, design, implementation and testing.
- Work in an agile team with sprint planning, daily scrums, and sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- After a few years, explore opportunities to grow into Senior Developer, Business Analyst and Project Management roles.
- Some travel to customer sites may be required (accompanied by a more experienced team member).
- Occasional customer site visits may be required (travel under 10%). What We're Looking For
- 3 years UK residency is required for security check.
- A minimum of a 2:1 degree in BSc Computing Science, BSc Software Engineering, MSc Software Engineering, or similar.
- Some experience with Java and a strong general understanding of programming concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel to meet customers and work at customer sites as required.
- A desire to develop great software by understanding end-user requirements and collaborating with customers. Nice to Have
- Experience with Android development and XSLT.
