About the Role The Graduate Research Assistant – Data Analyst will support a national study of immigration legal services, focusing on cleaning, recoding, and visualizing survey data. This is a remote, part-time role with a short project window (July–August 2025) and a pay rate of $18/hour. The position requires enrollment as a Villanova student and completion of CITI training or existing IRB clearance before accessing data.
What You'll Do
- Clean and recode data files from two Qualtrics surveys using Stata.
- Produce tables, figures, and other visualizations to summarize recoded data.
- Create data visualizations and, if applicable, maps to illustrate findings.
- Collaborate with a senior researcher to ensure data quality and effective presentation of results.
- Complete CITI training (about 3–5 hours) or maintain IRB clearance prior to data access.
- Work remotely, averaging 8–10 hours/week with a total effort of 10–30 hours/week over 3–6 weeks in July and August 2025.
What We're Looking For
- Current Villanova student eligible for graduate assistant employment.
- Experience using Stata to clean and recode raw survey data and to produce tables, figures, and visualizations.
- Experience producing maps using ArcGIS or other mapping platforms is a plus.
- Comfort with handling survey data (Qualtrics) and collaborating with a senior researcher.
- Willingness to complete CITI training or to hold existing IRB clearance.
Nice to Have
- ArcGIS mapping experience.
- Familiarity with Qualtrics survey data.
- Strong data visualization and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $18/hour.
- Position as Graduate Research Assistant for the Strategic Initiative for Migrants and Refugees; fully remote with flexible hours within the stated weekly range.
