The Opportunity
Are you passionate about ecology, biodiversity, and protecting Australia's unique natural environments?
We're looking for a Graduate Ecologist to join our team and help deliver projects that protect and enhance our natural resources and ecosystems.
As part of our national Environment team, you'll work alongside experienced ecologists, botanists, zoologists, environmental scientists and planners on a variety of infrastructure, renewable energy, water, resources and local government projects.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving environmental challenges and learning from industry experts. You'll gain hands-on experience undertaking ecological fieldwork, environmental monitoring and biodiversity assessments while building the skills needed for a successful consulting career.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for ecology, biodiversity and conservation.
- Enjoys working outdoors and undertaking field-based work.
- Is curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Has good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Can analyse information and solve problems.
- Has a willingness to travel for fieldwork, including regional locations when required.
- Holds or is working towards obtaining a driver's licence.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience through university projects, volunteer work or internships involving ecological surveys or environmental monitoring.
- Familiarity with environmental legislation and biodiversity assessment processes.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day, You Will
- Participate in ecological field surveys and environmental monitoring programs.
- Assist with flora and fauna surveys, habitat assessments and vegetation mapping.
- Support environmental sampling and field data collection activities.
- Help identify plant species, habitats and ecological communities.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and ecological assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across Australia.
- Develop practical field skills while working alongside experienced ecologists.
- Contribute to projects that help clients achieve positive environmental outcomes.
Qualifications

You'll be completing or have recently completed a degree in:

Or a related environmental discipline
