Job title: Graduate Coordinator

About the Role The Graduate Coordinator at Wayland Baptist University's Hawaii Campus provides guidance to students on admissions requirements, degree plans, and program requirements. You will analyze academic information to help students choose the best educational options and act as a liaison to external audiences as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Advise individuals on educational options and assist with course and program selection, class scheduling, school adjustment, study habits, and career planning.
  • Assist students with admissions requirements, degree plans, and program requirements; analyze academic information to guide decision-making.
  • Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the university to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
  • Address community groups, faculty, and staff members to explain available programs.
  • Assess needs for assistance such as financial aid or other student services related topics.
  • Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
  • Follow up with students on incomplete files which must be completed before end of first term of enrollment.
  • Assist students with graduation/degree completion related assessments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Human Resources.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of proven experience in an office setting required; experience in academic advising preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal communication; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; independent problem solving, self-direction, and strong time management; proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint; ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with tact and professionalism.
