About the Role

Kentucky Christian University is seeking a graduate student to coach, mentor, and lead student-athletes through their time at KCU. This position is part of the Women’s Basketball Graduate Residency Program and involves leading one or more team events, practices, and games while emphasizing the holistic growth of student-athletes both on and off the court. The role supports the program’s mission to develop athletes who excel academically, athletically, and spiritually.

What You'll Do

  • Lead team events, practices, and games as part of the women’s basketball program.
  • Mentor student-athletes with a focus on academic guidance, character development, and spiritual formation.
  • Assist coaches with training, scheduling, and program operations; collaborate with staff to foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and teamwork.

What We're Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree and acceptance into one of KCU’s Master’s programs.
  • Competed at the collegiate level in any event (special consideration for throws, jumps, hurdles, sprints, distance event groups).
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  • Ability to lead both in the spiritual and athletic realms.
  • Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: sympathetic to the beliefs of the Restoration Movement; committed to regular spiritual formation practices and disciplines; passion for working in an ethnically and spiritually diverse community; spiritual and emotional maturity; good communication and conflict resolution skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Housing: Non-Married Students will be provided housing within one of KCU’s residential apartments. Married Students will have a 1-2 bedroom apartment reserved at a reduced monthly rate.
  • Tuition: Full-tuition scholarship.
  • Meals: Graduate Assistants will be provided with a fully-funded meal plan.
