About the Role The Graduate Assistant at Wayland Baptist University supports athletics operations under the supervision of the Head Coach & Athletic Director. This role contributes to multiple facets of the program, including game logistics, scouting, film exchange, travel planning, conditioning supervision, and student-athlete recruitment, while maintaining focus on academics and the mission. What You'll Do
- Pre/post game obligations
- Scouting of opponents
- Facility supervisor
- On-floor coaching
- Film exchange
- Travel planning
- Supervision of conditioning program
- Camp organization
- Recruitment of student athletes
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director What We're Looking For
- Education: Undergraduate degree required
- Experience and Knowledge: Prior experience in athletics is preferred
- Skills and Abilities: Be supportive of Wayland Baptist University mission and lifestyle; student-oriented with empathy for the academic demands of the student-athlete; demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to be student-focused
- Conditions of Employment: Must be willing to travel and recruit; must operate a licensed motor vehicle; have access to dependable motor vehicle; possess a valid state driver’s license; maintain a satisfactory driving record; ability to present documentation to establish identity and employment eligibility per ICE within three days of hire Nice to Have
- Prior experience in athletics is preferred
