About the Role The Graduate Assistant Cheer Coach coaches the UIW cheer program, including tryouts, training, coordination, and scheduling, as well as game-day responsibilities such as performances, pre-game and in-game appearances, and halftime routines. This role also supports the mascot coordination and reports to the Student-Athlete Development Coordinator. This position is open to current UIW graduate students. What You'll Do
- Coordinate, choreograph and lead practice times, while managing the practice schedule in alignment with facilities.
- Coordinate appearances and performances at other sporting events.
- Equipment management.
- Support overall spirit enrichment in collaboration with the mascot and Cheer Graduate Assistant.
- Create and review game and practice video.
- Manage paperwork and budgets for the program.
- Manage community service, team events and social media.
- Manage administrative tasks regarding the team and team budget.
- Follow the mission of the university.
- Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Current or incoming UIW graduate student.
- 2-4 years of experience on a college cheer team, and previous coaching experience at any level.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other computer skills.
- Ability to anticipate needs and provide solutions; perform well in high-pressure situations.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Adherence to all applicable rules and regulations of the university, conference, and NCAA. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $2,100 + Tuition Waiver.
- Part-time position, on-campus for UIW graduate students.
