About this role

About the Role The IDB Group seeks a Governance and Decision-Making Analyst in the Office of the Secretary (SEC). This technical role supports governance and decision-making processes by researching, analyzing corporate and operational issues, and preparing clear summaries and documentation for discussions led by the Secretary and Deputy Secretary. The role also contributes to meeting material preparation and coordination across the Boards and Management Committees of IDB, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab, with emphasis on service delivery and process modernization. What You'll Do

  • Support the Secretary and Deputy Secretary in reviewing and preparing documents for senior management committees (e.g., Operations Policy Committee, President’s Committee, Programming Committee, Finance Committee).
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality on sensitive topics at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders and IDB leaders across business units to ensure an institutional perspective on priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve SEC workflows and participate in enhancements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in working groups and multidisciplinary teams, contributing technical inputs and representing SEC as required.
  • Draft, review, and edit complex documents for clarity and alignment with institutional standards.
  • Build professional networks inside and outside the IDB and provide guidance to junior staff and share knowledge. What We're Looking For
  • Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree in economics, law, political science, public policy, public administration, government, or international relations.
  • At least four years of experience drafting concise summaries of technical documents under tight deadlines, including comments for senior management committee meetings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in Spanish and English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong confidentiality, professional judgment, and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to operate in a multinational organization and coordinate across diverse teams. Compensation & Benefits
