Google Data Architect

About the Role Slalom's Google Center of Excellence (COE) focuses on building data products and cloud AI solutions. As a Data Architect, you will design and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), architect solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, Cloud Composer, and other Google Cloud services, and help clients migrate and modernize data estates to accelerate AI-ready data foundations. What You'll Do

• Design and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in collaborative teams.
• Architect solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, Cloud Composer, and other Google Cloud services.
• Help clients migrate and modernize data estates; implement real-time and batch data platforms; enable governed analytics; accelerate AI-ready data foundations.
• Understand the client’s current environment, technical challenges, business outcomes, and future-state data strategy.
• Lead the analysis, architecture, design, and delivery of the client’s next generation Google Cloud Data Platform Solution; facilitate working design sessions with Slalom and client teams.
• Communicate trade-offs, benefits, risks, and implementation path; drive consensus across Slalom and client teams.
• Break down complex architecture into deliverable workstreams; ensure quality completion of development items.
• Participate in pre-sales activities including shaping Google Cloud data modernization approaches, defining technical options, supporting estimates and delivery plans, and partnering with business development teams to address prospect challenges.
• Work in a hybrid environment; be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed; commute to one of Slalom's listed office locations. What We're Looking For

• Passion for Google Cloud and modern data architecture; committed to expanding skills through hands-on delivery, certifications, and collaboration across the Google COE.
• Enjoy solving complex data challenges, mentoring engineers, and building scalable, secure cloud-native platforms.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solution architecture and enterprise data platform design; hands-on experience with BigQuery, BigLake, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL; Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Apache Kafka, and event-driven patterns; Cloud Composer / Airflow, dbt; Dataplex; data governance and quality patterns; Python, Java, SQL; Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, MongoDB; GKE, Cloud Run, CI/CD, DevOps, IaC. Nice to Have
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification
• Looker, Looker Studio, semantic modeling
• Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI, MLOps, and AI-enabled data architecture
• Experience migrating from AWS, Azure, Teradata, Hadoop, Informatica, Snowflake, or legacy platforms to Google Cloud Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary range: $110k-$132k per year; potential discretionary 10% bonus based on individual and company performance.
