About the Role Join Canonical as a Golang Software Engineer in the Commercial Systems unit. You will design, develop, and operate Golang services across Billing, Contracts, and Livepatch, delivering scalable, reliable capabilities and integrating with other systems. This role emphasizes high engineering quality, continuous learning, and collaboration across a globally distributed team.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and operate Golang services for the Billing team to turn metrics into billable amounts, enable customers to see current spend, and ensure accurate, reliable, and timely billing, with integrations to other engineering and business systems including payment systems.
- Design, develop, and operate a Golang service for the Contracts team to become the single source of truth for all contracts with all customers, providing a standardized CPQ capability and storing signed contracts in a structured format, with integrations to CRM and accounting systems.
- Design and develop a service for Livepatch to deliver Linux kernel patches between security maintenance windows, enabling patching while the system runs, collaborating with the Kernel team on security patches and building Golang client and backend components.
- Collaborate with other engineering and business teams at Canonical, and uphold high engineering quality while continuously improving the codebase.
