What You'll Do
- Design and implement well-tested and documented software in Go
- Debug and fix issues encountered by users
- Participate in engineering process through code and architectural reviews
- Collaborate with community and colleagues on technical specifications
- Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
- In some cases, deploy and operate services developed by the team
- Contribute to the success of the product through technical advocacy
What We're Looking For
- Exceptional software engineer with strong Go experience
- Comfortable working in a fully remote and distributed environment
- Extensive personal experience with Linux (more distro variety is a plus)
- Interest in open-source software and distributed systems
- Interest in performance and security-focused development
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python, C, C++, or Rust projects
- Front-end knowledge (React or Flutter) can be valuable for some teams
- Experience with Canonical tools such as Juju, Livepatch, LXD, MAAS, MicroK8s, Snapd, Ubuntu Core, or Ubuntu Pro
