POSITION SUMMARY

The Global VOS Deployment Specialist is a hands-on deployment resource within the Global Manufacturing Vertiv Operating System team, reporting to the Global VOS Deployment Manager. The role supports execution of the Wave 12 program and other manufacturing transformation and deployment activities at underperforming, new, and expansion sites. Working directly on the shop floor and alongside site leadership, the specialist helps deploy and stabilize foundational Vertiv Operating System practices including Tier Accountability, 5S+1, visual management, Leader Standard Work, standard work, key performance indicator governance, structured problem solving, and basic Lean methods. The position supports rapid site assessments, implementation of recovery and readiness plans, coaching of local teams, tracking of deployment milestones, and preparation for handover to site and regional ownership. Success is measured by disciplined execution, adherence to global standards, measurable improvement in operational stability, and the ability of local teams to sustain the deployed practices after the intervention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wave 12 Deployment & Site Intervention

• Support execution of the Wave 12 program at designated underperforming, new, and expansion manufacturing sites, following the global deployment methodology and defined readiness and handover gates.

• Support rapid site assessments, identify operating-system gaps, collect evidence, and help translate findings into focused deployment and stabilization plans with clear milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.

• Operate as an embedded Global Manufacturing resource during interventions, providing hands-on implementation, facilitation, coaching, and follow-up under the direction of the Global VOS Deployment Manager.

• Identify and escalate barriers, resource constraints, execution gaps, and systemic risks to the Global VOS Deployment Manager with clear facts, actions, and timing.

• Tier Accountability & Daily Management

• Support deployment and stabilization of Tier Accountability from frontline through site leadership levels using global standards, standard agendas, visual boards, and escalation pathways.

• Help establish the daily management cadence required to make safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and other critical performance gaps visible and actionable.

• Coach and support leaders in running effective Tier meetings focused on abnormality management, ownership, action closure, and timely escalation.

• Perform routine checks of Tier meeting effectiveness, document gaps, support corrective actions, and reinforce transfer of ownership to local leadership.

• 5S+1, Visual Management & Workplace Stability

• Support hands-on deployment of foundational 5S+1 and visual management standards in priority production and support areas, beginning with the highest operational risks and constraints.

• Help establish clear workplace standards, ownership, audit routines, and visual controls that support safe, repeatable, and disciplined execution.

• Work with site teams to identify abnormalities, eliminate basic waste, and maintain standards through routine leadership follow-up.

• Document improvements and support sustainment routines so deployed practices remain effective after the Global Manufacturing intervention ends.

• Problem Solving, Escalation & Recovery

• Support structured root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for chronic or high-impact operational issues using practical Lean methodologies.

• Support disciplined escalation pathways with clear problem ownership, due dates, countermeasures, and closure verification.

• Facilitate rapid containment and corrective-action follow-up while helping convert recurring problems into standardized improvements.

• Coach local teams in fact-based problem solving, root cause analysis, and prevention under the established deployment approach.

• Leader Standard Work & Leadership Discipline

• Support deployment of role-based Leader Standard Work for operational and functional leaders, aligned with Tier Accountability, Gemba walks, key performance indicator reviews, and escalation routines.

• Help establish practical daily and weekly leadership routines that reinforce standards, follow-up, and accountability.

• Support coaching of site leaders and teams in the behaviors required to sustain the operating system after handover.

• Track execution, identify gaps, and support closure before transitioning ownership to the local organization.

• Standard Work & Basic Lean Deployment

• Support development and deployment of standard work in critical processes to improve stability, repeatability, and performance.

• Apply foundational Lean tools such as waste identification, Gemba, visual management, process mapping, flow improvement, Kaizen, and basic setup reduction as directed by site priorities and the deployment plan.

• Support implementation of simple, high-impact countermeasures that improve operational control before more advanced tools are introduced.

• Maintain documentation and action tracking to help ensure deployed practices are owned locally and integrated into normal operating routines.

• Performance Management & KPI Governance

• Support establishment or restoration of key performance indicator governance aligned with Global Manufacturing and Vertiv Operating System requirements.

• Validate and organize data used in daily and weekly management so it is accurate, visible, actionable, and connected to site priorities.

• Analyze performance trends to identify instability, support prioritization of interventions, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.

• Maintain transparent progress tracking and reporting against Wave 12 milestones and operational stabilization targets.

• Site Launch & Expansion Readiness

• Support new manufacturing launches and major expansions by deploying the basic operating system before and during ramp-up.

• Work with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Safety, and other functions to identify and track readiness gaps that could affect safe and stable execution.

• Help deploy foundational management routines early enough to support controlled start-up, capacity growth, and transition into normal operations.

• Escalate readiness risks and support action closure before key launch or expansion milestones.

• Handover, Sustainment & Capability Building

• Support local capability building through hands-on coaching, practical training, and direct participation in daily operating routines.

• Support execution of the structured handover plan from Global Manufacturing to site and regional ownership, including documentation, sustainment responsibilities, and open-action closure.

• Collect evidence and support validation that critical Wave 12 standards are operating effectively and can be sustained by local leaders.

• Support the site toward Vertiv Operating System capability readiness after stabilization, while maintaining immediate focus on basic operational discipline and system stability.

• Cross-Functional Execution

• Work across Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, and other functions to support removal of barriers and establishment of an integrated operating cadence.

• Facilitate workshops, Gemba activities, Kaizen events, and working sessions around site priorities, critical constraints, actions, and ownership.

• Act as a hands-on global resource that reinforces global standards, identifies deviations, and supports corrective action when execution is not meeting expectations.

• Global Standardization & Governance

• Apply approved global standards, templates, and controlled documentation in all Vertiv Operating System deployment activities.

• Provide feedback to the Global VOS Deployment Manager on recurring deployment gaps and opportunities to improve Wave 12 methods.

• Identify unnecessary local variation and support establishment of a clear baseline that can be sustained and further matured by the site.

• Change Leadership & Coaching

• Operate effectively in high-pressure, ambiguous, and rapidly changing manufacturing environments where hands-on support may be required.

• Build effective working relationships with site leaders and cross-functional teams, using data, facilitation, and coaching to influence execution without direct authority.

• Model disciplined execution, fact-based decision making, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement behaviors.

• Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

• Prepare concise, fact-based updates for the Global VOS Deployment Manager and site stakeholders on deployment status, risks, actions, and support required.
