Join us in a global leadership role where you will help define how next-generation automation solutions are verified, validated, and released at scale.

At Epiroc, we're accelerating the transformation of mining through automation and digitalization. As our Global R&D Manager Verification & Validation, you will play a key role in ensuring that our solutions are safe, predictable, compliant, and ready to deliver value for our customers around the world.

Join our team

You will be part of Surface Mining R&D Automation, a globally connected organization developing autonomous and software-defined mining solutions. Together with colleagues across R&D, Systems Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, and Release Management, we create innovative technologies that improve safety, productivity, and sustainability in mining operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the entire automation lifecycle, from early requirements and architecture to system integration, release readiness, and customer acceptance.

Your mission

As Global R&D Manager Verification & Validation, you will establish and lead a global approach to verification and validation, helping ensure the successful delivery of automation solutions across regions and programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and continuously improving a global verification and validation strategy aligned with the V-model.
  • Leading system- and machine-level verification activities across integrated automation solutions.
  • Establishing clear release-readiness criteria, quality gates, and data-driven decision frameworks.
  • Ensuring traceability from requirements to verification results, supported by robust documentation and compliance processes.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to identify risks early and improve solution quality from the start.
  • Enabling scalable verification through reusable test methods, assets, and environments including HiL, SIL, and virtual testing.

We are looking for a collaborative and experienced leader who combines systems thinking with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.

You build trust through expertise, communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, and enjoy creating alignment across global teams.

You are equally comfortable engaging with senior leaders on strategic priorities as working closely with engineers and technical specialists to drive execution and solve complex challenges.

You have a leadership style that inspires confidence, builds engagement, and helps teams successfully navigate change in complex global organizations.

With a strong quality mindset and a structured approach, you know how to establish new ways of working, gain stakeholder commitment, and drive sustainable improvements across teams and functions.

You are comfortable making informed decisions based on data and evidence while supporting others in finding solutions to complex challenges.

To be successful in this role, we believe you bring:

  • Experience in system-level verification and validation within automation, embedded systems, control systems, software-intensive products, or system integration.
  • Strong leadership experience in global or cross-functional environments, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong experience leading change management initiatives, including organizational, process, or technology transformations and driving adoption across global teams.

The ability to communicate effectively at both strategic and operational levels, translating complex technical topics into clear business insights while building strong relationships with engineering teams.

  • A strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of verification strategies, requirements traceability, system integration, release processes, and verification environments such as HiL, SIL, or simulation-based testing.
  • Experience with customer acceptance activities, field-deployed automation, compliance, or functional safety is considered an advantage.
  • A degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Advanced studies and leadership development experience are welcome.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of Swedish is considered an advantage.
