About the Role ICON is seeking a Global Pharmacovigilance Excellence Lead to oversee pharmacovigilance activities and drive transformational initiatives within GPV. This is a 12-month contract, fully homebased in the UK or Belgium, with responsibilities spanning safety operations, process improvement, and compliance across clinical development. What You'll Do

  • Oversee pharmacovigilance and drug safety operations, balancing quality, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead capability-building projects, developing plans and business cases, and driving enhancements to GPV methodologies, tools, frameworks, and capabilities.
  • Manage project plans, milestones, and communications to key stakeholders and governance committees.
  • Support infrastructure updates, procedures, tools, data flows, and documentation for GPV activities.
  • Partner with IT on digital and automation initiatives, including automation, workflow optimization, and responsible AI integration. What We're Looking For
  • Strong background in pharmacovigilance and drug safety with proven management experience and commitment to quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or healthcare-related field.
  • Significant experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety, ideally within the clinical research or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to drug safety and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders. Nice to Have
  • Experience with digital and automation initiatives, including automation, workflow optimization, and responsible AI integration.
  • Experience with PV-system related activities such as CAPA and deviation management, PSMF maintenance, and inspection readiness, as well as partner management. Compensation & Benefits
