Global Logistics Specialist

Role Overview

The Global Logistics Specialist manages international shipping operations at iHerb, ensuring customer orders are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. The role focuses on coordinating with global logistics partners, improving delivery networks, managing carriers, and optimizing international shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities

Global Logistics Management

• Coordinate outbound shipments with international logistics providers.

• Act as a subject matter expert on:

• Shipping regulations.

• Customs procedures.

• Carrier policies.

• Regional logistics requirements.

• Manage relationships with carriers such as FedEx and DHL.

• Resolve delivery issues and identify improvement opportunities.

Process Improvement

• Develop and improve shipping programs and delivery solutions.

• Optimize assigned shipping routes (lanes) for:

• Cost efficiency.

• Speed.

• Customer experience.

• Analyze logistics data and identify opportunities for operational improvements.

• Support projects that improve global supply chain performance.

Carrier & Vendor Management

• Maintain transportation management system (TMS) information, including:

• Carrier rates.

• Routes.

• Delivery timelines.

• Tracking details.

• Shipping requirements.

• Follow up with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.

• Manage vendor performance and support contract processes.

Shipment Tracking & Compliance

• Investigate:

• Lost shipments.

• Damaged packages.

• Delivery delays.

• Monitor shipment progress and resolve customs or carrier issues.

• Perform logistics audits and ensure compliance with internal processes.

• Prepare pricing updates and reports for accounting and leadership teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience improving direct-to-consumer (D2C) shipping networks.
• Experience in e-commerce logistics operations.
• Knowledge of global transportation and supply chain processes.
• Vendor management experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good customer service understanding.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency with:

• Microsoft Office Suite.

• Google Docs.

• Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

• Experience with logistics management systems is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced e-commerce environment.
• Office/warehouse setting.
• May require extended working hours.
• Occasional lifting of office or warehouse materials up to 25 lbs.

Compensation

• Expected salary: $71,000 USD/year
• Final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and internal factors.
