SAIC is seeking a Geographic Information Systems Analyst in California, MD.
-
The candidate will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive inventory and assessment of Navy environmental data assets and for modifying and/or converting those assets into Navy-compliant geospatial data layers. Inventoried data will include, but is not limited to, Environmental Compliance, Cultural Resources, Natural Resources, and Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) datasets.

.The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment and must possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as demonstrate initiative, analytical rigor, and attention to detail in planning, executing, and documenting project tasks.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years or more of relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required skills
- Hands-on experience working with Esri software, specifically ArcGIS Pro.
- Demonstrated experience converting multiple data types (e.g., non-geospatial tabular data, CAD files) into standardized, geospatial formats.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document methods and findings.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple datasets, tasks, and deadlines in a team environment.
- Development of Python scripts to increase efficiency and automate routine data inventory and development processes.
Desired Skills:

Experience with Navy geospatial data standards, including the Spatial Data Standard for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) data model.

Experience working directly with, or a basic understanding of, Environmental, Cultural Resources, Natural Resources, and Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) GIS data.

Experience using Power BI (or similar business intelligence tools) to track, visualize, and report project progress or data quality metrics.

Experience performing data validation and quality control checks using RBJ files and/or Python scripts.

-Ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
