As a portfolio manager for the National Team, you will provide discretionary portfolio management services to high net worth MD clients across the country in a hybrid environment, reporting to the Senior Director, Leadership and Practice, CPPMD. The role works closely with Financial Consultants MD to foster, maintain and strengthen client relationships. The role contributes to the overall success of Financial Management MD by ensuring objectives, initiatives and individual plans are realized to support the team’s business strategies and goals. This person also ensures all activities comply with regulation and internal policies and procedures.
This position involves discovering client needs, developing investment policy statements (IPS), portfolio modeling and ensuring investments comply with client IPS. Client contact is established by the client, the financial consultant, or the portfolio manager, and can be facilitated by phone or web channels. Depending on service and communication model, interactions with clients will occur by phone, email and Web conference (e.g., Teams). At least one formal review of investments annually, virtual, with the financial consultant, client and portfolio manager.
Hold a national license and support a team of advisors in the assigned region as portfolio manager for the SGPP client base, ensuring discretionary investment management while collaborating with the consultants. Adopt an operations and execution-focused approach to discussions on investments, compliance and regulatory obligations, and client meetings led by the advisors. Assess client objectives and their risk tolerance.
