About this role
About the Role The New York Genome Center seeks exceptional Genomic AI Fellows to join a high-impact initiative transforming diagnosis, prevention, and treatment through predictive genomic AI. The fellowship provides early-career scientists with resources to develop next-generation Foundation Models for the human genome and to collaborate across data generators, computational experts, and geneticists. What You'll Do
- Collaborate with data generators, computational experts, and geneticists to build models that predict how genetic variation influences cellular behavior and human health.
- Leverage NYGC’s proprietary datasets, including single-cell multiomics and large-scale genetic perturbation data, to tackle challenges such as mapping the regulatory landscape, decoding distal regulation, and predicting clinical trajectories from whole-genome sequencing data.
- Develop architectures and training pipelines for multi-modal genomic data and large foundation models; work in high-performance computing environments. What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related quantitative field.
- Deep expertise in modern deep learning, foundation models, and large-scale model training.
- Biological curiosity and experience with gene regulation, epigenomics, or the genetic basis of complex disease.
- Track record of leading original research and the ability to navigate complex, multi-modal datasets. Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-omics data integration and clinical or neurological genomics is a plus.
- Prior experience deploying or evaluating foundation models in genomics. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $118,000 per year, including a $100,000 base pay and a $1,500 per month housing allowance ($18,000/year).
- Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, plus generous time off. One-year renewable appointment based on performance and program needs.
