Generative AI Engineer - Finance Data & AI Analytics

Building a Finance Data & AI Analytics capability in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. We are seeking a Generative AI Engineer to design, build, test, and operate AI-powered applications that automate the generation and consumption of financial statistics sourced from multiple world regions. The role combines hands-on GenAI engineering with financial data, web application, and analytics capabilities, supporting global and regional Finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop GenAI applications that retrieve, transform, interpret, and present financial statistics from governed internal data sources and data pages.

Build AI agents for repetitive, rules-based tasks and agentic applications for complex, open-ended Finance use cases.

Integrate in-house LLMs with applications, data pages, structured datasets, and supporting services.

Develop modular AI architectures with independently testable components, clear interfaces, reusable services, and maintainable code.

Implement AI orchestration workflows, tool use, retrieval, prompt patterns, and state management using the LangChain family of tools or equivalent frameworks.

Design and enforce guardrails for accuracy, safety, access control, data confidentiality, and predictable agent behavior.

Build evaluation and A/B testing approaches for prompts, agents, workflows, and user-facing outputs; monitor quality and improve iteratively.

Develop lightweight web interfaces and services using HTML and modern web frameworks; support on-premise and cloud deployment patterns.

Partner with Finance and Data/BI stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions and data products.

Document technical designs, data flows, test cases, operating procedures, and model/agent behavior.

Contribute to the broader analytics capability, including forecasting, anomaly detection, intelligent automation, and decision-support use cases.

Qualifications Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field.

3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, data analytics engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, AI agents, or agentic workflows.

Practical experience with AI orchestration frameworks and the LangChain family of tools or equivalent technologies.

Experience integrating LLMs with applications, APIs, databases, or structured/unstructured data sources.

Ability to design modular, testable software components and establish automated evaluation/testing for AI behavior.

Experience implementing guardrails, validation, monitoring, and quality controls for AI-enabled applications.

Working knowledge of Python and web technologies, including HTML; experience deploying applications on-premise or in cloud environments.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to data quality and reliable outputs.

Preferred
-
Finance or data analytics domain knowledge, especially financial statistics, FP&A, reporting, forecasting, or business performance analysis.

Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases; familiarity with Snowflake or similar data platforms.

Experience with Django, Gradio, FastAPI, or similar frameworks for AI-enabled web applications.

Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, structured outputs/function calling, model evaluation, or LLM observability.

Experience with BI/reporting ecosystems and governed enterprise data products.
