About the Role Nova Scotia Health is seeking a General Worker – Environmental Services in Tatamagouche, NS. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and healthy hospital environment by performing cleaning tasks and supporting facility operations.
What You'll Do
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of patient care areas, common spaces, and support areas according to established procedures
- Discard waste and manage recyclables in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Restock supplies and organize environmental services storage areas
- Report maintenance and safety concerns to the supervisor and coordinate with the facilities team
- Follow infection prevention and control practices and use protective equipment as required
What We're Looking For
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift/move supplies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in environmental services or housekeeping is an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent; further training in safety or healthcare support is a plus
