About this role
Job title: General Track Engineer - Low-Level System Technology (Autonomous Devices)
About the Role Canonical is hiring for a general track role based in Taipei, focusing on low-level system technology for autonomous devices. You will work across all seniority levels on memory, performance, battery and connectivity constrained code that must run reliably in a challenging environment on x86, ARM or RISC-V silicon. This role supports Canonical's Ubuntu Core and related embedded/IoT work across hardware partners.
What You'll Do
- Work on low-level system technology for autonomous devices across all seniority levels.
- Write memory, performance, battery, and connectivity constrained code that must work every time in an unreliable world on x86, ARM or RISC-V silicon.
- Collaborate with Canonical Ubuntu teams and hardware partners to optimise Ubuntu on latest chips and ensure compatibility on vendor hardware.
What We're Looking For
- Careful and conscientious engineers who value reliability and correctness.
- Experience with low-level system software and constrained resource environments (memory, CPU, battery, connectivity).
- Ability to work across multiple architectures (x86, ARM, RISC-V) and software environments.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, good collaboration.
