Job Purpose The General Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day leadership and operational performance of NairaPoint Finance, a licensed digital financial technology platform focused on ethical lending, investment products, and retail wealth management. The role translates the Board's strategy into results by driving revenue, loan portfolio and deposit growth, ensuring sound credit and risk management, maintaining strong regulatory compliance, and building a high-performing, ethical team across all business units.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy & Business Leadership: Develop and execute the Company's strategic and annual business plans, budgets, and growth targets in line with the Board's vision. Drive revenue growth across loans, savings and investment products, wealth management, and Merchant POS & Agency Banking. Lead deposit mobilization from HNIs, corporate, and institutional investors, and grow a high-quality risk asset portfolio for SMEs and salary earners. Identify new products, partnerships, and market opportunities to deepen financial inclusion and increase market share.

Operations & Performance Management: Oversee day-to-day operations across Sales, Credit & Recovery, Treasury, POS & Agency Banking, Finance, Operations, and Technology. Set departmental KPIs, monitor performance against targets, and ensure timely corrective action where results fall short. Ensure efficient, scalable digital platforms and processes that deliver excellent customer experience and service quality. Present regular management reports on financial results, portfolio quality, liquidity, and business performance to the Board.

Risk, Credit & Financial Management: Ensure sound credit governance, portfolio quality, and effective loan recovery, keeping portfolio-at-risk and credit losses within approved limits. Oversee liquidity, funding, and asset-liability management in coordination with the Treasury and Finance teams. Ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and profitability, and support external audits. Maintain a robust internal control and fraud-prevention framework across all digital platforms and channels.

Compliance, Governance & People Leadership: Ensure full compliance with CBN, NDPA, AML/CFT, KYC, and other applicable laws, licensing, and regulatory reporting requirements. Represent the Company before regulators, partners, investors, and key stakeholders, and safeguard its reputation. Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, and build a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical lending.

Person Specification

General Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is an added advantage.

  • Professional Qualification: Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CIBN, CFA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 10–12 years of progressive experience in banking or financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a microfinance bank, finance house, or licensed fintech in Nigeria.
  • In-depth understanding of lending, deposit mobilization, investment products, and CBN regulations governing microfinance and digital financial services.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-functional teams, delivering revenue and portfolio growth, and managing credit, liquidity, and operational risk.
