Job title: General Maintenance Technician
About the Role This position is responsible for all facets of general maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The technician will diagnose and repair electrical, HVAC, chillers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, PLCs, and mechanical equipment, while upholding safety, quality, and continuous improvement through Newell Brands' SEAL and PEAK programs.
What You'll Do
- Observe all safety policies and procedures and uphold SEAL program
- Drive improvements through PEAK continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain clean, organized workstation and adherence to housekeeping standards
- Submit labor hours in Micromain system
- Diagnose and repair electrical, HVAC, chillers, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, PLCs, brazing furnaces, exothermic generators, and related machinery
- Rewire or run new power lines; perform welding; teardown and overhaul components (pumps, valves, regulators, motors)
- Utilize stamping press and/or spindle lathe experience
- Apply knowledge of blow molding, injection molding, vacuum forming, foam, and sheet extrusion to analyze and repair equipment
- Complete required reports and inspections and document work
- Use RS Logic programming and Microsoft Excel; AutoCAD training is preferred
- Train others, develop parts lists, and run small projects with documentation
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude; work across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Be flexible with shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent; 4-6 years related experience or combination
- Ability to read and interpret English instructions; strong math and reasoning abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to pass a test
- Certifications: EPA (preferred), Electrical license (preferred), Welding certificate (preferred), HVAC certificate (preferred); forklift license (ability to obtain)
- Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; experience with RS Logic programming; proficient in Microsoft Excel; AutoCAD (preferred)
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage time; willingness to work various shifts and weekends
- Team-oriented with good communication and leadership potential (no supervisory responsibilities, but acts as a top-level team lead and project manager)
Nice to Have
- AutoCAD training is preferred
- RS Logic programming experience
- Forklift license
- EPA, Electrical, Welding, and HVAC certificates (preferred)
