General Foreperson - Mechanical

About the Role The Mechanical General Foreperson will supervise, coordinate, and schedule construction activities at the Chalk River site under the general direction of the Site Superintendent, ensuring work is performed safely and to required quality and workmanship standards. What You'll Do

• Maintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and the public.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely in accordance with Aecon's Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
• Assist in developing, monitoring and updating the project schedule with the Superintendent.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with the project master schedule and develop look-ahead schedules.
• Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget is at risk.
• Plan and supervise the work of own forces and subcontractors, including methods, manpower, materials, tools and equipment, rentals and work schedules.
• Take responsibility for productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
• Ensure trades personnel receive necessary safety, quality, training, equipment operation and owner-specified requirements.
• Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, FWPs, ITPs and the project schedule and budget.
• Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc.
• Ensure project is constructed in accordance with Aecon’s QA programs and quality guidelines.
• Maintain field documentation such as safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, and FWP documents.
• Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, and field engineering activities.
• Maintain lines and levels and verify as-built conditions.
• Ensure compliance with union obligations.
• Participate in daily/weekly schedule reviews with the General Superintendent and/or Construction Manager.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by supervision.
• Direct Foremen, hourly trades and subcontractors in the execution of their duties. What We're Looking For
• Must possess a 306A (plumber), 308A (sheet metal), 433A (millwright), 428A (boilermaker) and/or 307A (Steam fitter) Certificate of Qualification.
• Minimum 5-year construction and subcontractor supervision experience. Compensation & Benefits
