About the Role Cashbuild is seeking a General Assistant for Qwaqwa HC. You will ensure comprehensive customer service in-store, assist with merchandising, shelf price labelling and housekeeping within designated area of responsibility. This role requires strong communication and basic math skills and a willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. What You'll Do
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with queries and product selection.
- Advise on correct products, resolve customer complaints, and maintain merchandising standards according to store layout and planograms.
- Ensure stock is merchandised safely, keep shelf price labelling accurate, and maintain housekeeping in your designated area.
- Maintain safety by keeping aisles unobstructed, ensuring safe movement of customers and staff, and completing safety checklists as required (Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedule).
- Report discrepancies and damaged stock to the Store Manager and assist with stock loss prevention. What We're Looking For
- Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year of related work experience, or Grade 12 with no related work experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language of the area.
- Valid South African ID or work permit.
- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays; ability to work under pressure.
- Basic OHSA/safety compliance awareness. Nice to Have Compensation & Benefits
