About the Role Valce Talent Solutions is seeking a GE Proficy Engineer/Sr Python Developer to configure, implement, and optimize GE Proficy Historian in an AWS cloud environment. The role centers on building robust historian data pipelines, developing Python-based calculations, and enabling downstream application teams to consume data via Proficy REST API, Historian SDK, and OPC interfaces. This is a remote position with nearshore/offshore collaboration possible.
What You'll Do
- Configure and implement GE Proficy Historian in AWS cloud.
- Set up collectors including SparklugB collector and calculation collectors.
- Create, manage, and maintain historian tags (Raw, Calculated, Writeback).
- Develop and maintain Python scripts/services to perform calculations on raw historian data and convert raw tags into calculated tags; normalize units, formats, and naming conventions; implement scheduled and event-driven calculations.
- Validate calculated values against engineering logic and source systems.
- Support versioning, testing, and logging for calculations.
- Enable and support downstream application teams to consume Proficy data using Proficy REST API, Historian SDK, and OPC interfaces.
- Provide reusable Python utilities or starter templates for data consumption.
- Assist application teams with tag discovery and mapping, performance tuning and query optimization, and data quality and gap analysis.
What We're Looking For
- Experience configuring and deploying GE Proficy Historian, ideally in an AWS environment.
- Strong Python development skills for data processing and calculations.
- Experience with Proficy REST API, Historian SDK, and OPC interfaces.
- Knowledge of historian tagging, data normalization, and calculation pipelines.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams (remote, nearshore, or offshore).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Nice to have: familiarity with SparklugB collector and cloud-based data integration.
- Ability to document, version, test, and log data processes.
