Job title: FX Sales Trader - Large Cap

About the Role An FX Sales Trader plays a crucial role in Marex's FX business, focusing on originating and managing UK large cap clients (£500m+ turnover). The role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand their needs, and provide tailored FX solutions, with a focus on UK large cap clients (£500m+).
  • Monitor and analyse foreign exchange markets to provide timely insights to clients.
  • Execute FX trades on behalf of clients, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and manage risks, adhering to internal and external risk management policies.
  • Develop new business opportunities and expand the client base through proactive sales efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all trading activities and prepare regular reports for clients and management.
  • Collaborate with compliance, operations and research to ensure seamless service delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Banking background with 8+ years in building relationships in the FX space; transferrable client base; predominantly voice relationships to reduce aggregator reliance.
  • Strong background in structured FX in cashflow management and/or deal-led hedging.
  • Experience across public and private transactions; awareness of ancillary services such as debt and advisory; entrepreneurial and business development mindset.
  • Conduct rules and regulatory experience: integrity, skill, due care, cooperation with FCA/PRA, fair treatment of customers; reporting breaches; escalation of risk.
  • Experience in regulated financial services with knowledge of risk and compliance requirements; exposure to digital assets and how this translates to legal/regulatory risk; crypto-related products/services or counterparties advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with derivatives and/or structured products and how they intersect with digital asset markets; willingness to build knowledge.
  • Strong credit understanding and ability to navigate capital structure to support unsecured facilities.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to or strong interest in digital assets space; hands-on understanding of wallet infra, custody models, blockchain mechanics, stablecoins and staking; experience advising on crypto-related products would be advantageous.
  • Broader knowledge of derivatives and capital structure; willingness to expand expertise.
