Job Summary

  • We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Furniture Installer to join our team.
  • The Furniture Installer will be responsible for the safe and accurate installation of furniture and fitted products at customers' homes, offices, and other project locations.
  • The successful candidate should have strong practical skills and be comfortable working with hand tools and power tools. They must be able to interpret measurements and installation drawings and ensure that every installation is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Furniture Installation:

  • Install wardrobes, kitchens, cabinets, TV units, shelving, tables, beds, wall panels, and other furniture products.
  • Assemble and install furniture accurately according to drawings, measurements, and installation instructions.
  • Install hinges, drawer runners, handles, brackets, rails, locks, and other hardware.
  • Accurately position, level, align, and secure furniture components.
  • Carry out wall, floor, and ceiling fixing where required.
  • Make necessary adjustments to ensure doors, drawers, and other moving parts operate correctly.
  • Complete installations within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Site Preparation & Measurement:

  • Review installation requirements before visiting the site.
  • Take accurate site measurements where required.
  • Identify potential installation challenges and communicate them to the Production or Project Manager.
  • Check that walls, floors, ceilings, and other surfaces are suitable for installation.
  • Ensure all necessary tools, fittings, and materials are available before starting work.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect installed furniture for alignment, stability, functionality, and overall appearance.
  • Ensure all installations meet the company's quality and design standards.
  • Identify and correct defects, gaps, uneven surfaces, loose fittings, or other installation issues.
  • Protect furniture, walls, floors, and other property from damage during installation.
  • Clean the work area and leave the site neat and presentable after completing the installation.

Customer Service:

  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when working in customers' homes, offices, and other locations.
  • Communicate politely with customers regarding installation requirements and completion.
  • Handle customer property and furniture with care.
  • Report customer concerns or additional requirements to management promptly.
  • Obtain customer confirmation/sign-off after installation when required.

Tools & Equipment:

  • Safely use drills, screwdrivers, saws, levels, measuring tools, routers, and other installation equipment.
  • Maintain and properly store company tools and equipment.
  • Ensure tools are in good working condition before and after each job.
  • Report damaged or missing tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • SSCE / GCE / NECO with a minimum of 2 years experience in furniture installation, carpentry, cabinetry, joinery, or a related field.
  • Previous experience installing wardrobes, kitchens, cabinets, fitted furniture, or interior fixtures is strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of furniture construction and installation methods.
  • Ability to accurately read measurements, drawings, and installation specifications.
  • Good knowledge of furniture hardware and fittings.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Good understanding of levels, alignment, measurements, and fixing methods.
  • Ability to work at customer locations and travel to different installation sites.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and handle furniture components safely.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
