Job Title: Functional Consultant – MDM (Master Data Management)
Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan
GC and USC only
Feedback: have worked on designing the MDM data structure at least for 2 assignments. Experience on Informatic would be advantageous
Job Summary
The Techno-Functional MDM Specialist/Lead who can bridge the gap between manufacturing business units (Engineering, Supply Chain, Production) and IT.
With practical design and manufacturing domain knowledge
Main role will be to define, implement, and maintain master data solutions tailored to complex automotive manufacturing lifecycles. Responsibilities will be mainly functional data governance (such as Bill of Materials and Parts compliance)
Translate them into effective MDM requirements for Material/Parts Master, Vendor/Supplier Master, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Equipment/Plant Master, EDI, BOM master data.
Business Requirement Translation: Lead workshops with manufacturing stakeholders to map business data operational needs into functional specifications.
Practical hands-on experience to standardize, cleanse, validate, and govern master data across systems.
Define MDM data models, workflows, approval processes, and business rules to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability.
Support implementation and integration of MDM solutions with ERP and other manufacturing and financial applications.
Experience: 10 to 15+ years in Data Management, with at least 5+ years specifically within an automotive or discrete manufacturing environment.
Technical knowledge: SQL, knowledge of ERP data structures preferred (such as SAP MM/PP modules), and enterprise data warehousing.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management.
