About the Role Seeking a Functional Business Analyst to serve as the subject matter expert for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Campus Community module and related ERP projects. The role bridges technical development teams and business stakeholders to sustain the university’s enterprise ERP environment, balancing maintenance with strategic initiatives. This on-campus position emphasizes delivery, accessibility, and security improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the functional expert for the Campus Community module; configure and maintain delivered PeopleSoft functionality for Campus Solutions data models and regulatory requirements.
  • Gather and document business requirements; provide expert functional and technical consultation; lead strategic initiatives including accessibility improvements, security de-customization projects, and the implementation of Oracle tools such as Page and Field Configurator, Data Masking, and Track Changes.
  • Support the integration of PeopleSoft systems with cloud-based vendor solutions and third-party platforms (Slate for admissions and SU Mobile via Modo Labs); ensure that data flows accurately between systems and that integrations meet institutional standards.
  • Maintain a split focus: approximately 40% operational/system maintenance and 60% strategic initiatives, upgrades, new implementations, and ongoing accessibility and security improvements.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable solutions and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combinations considered.
  • 3+ years with PeopleSoft HCM, Campus Solutions, or Financials; Campus Community preferred.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft security, administration, and integration technologies (Integration Broker, web services, file layouts).
  • Strong requirements gathering; ability to produce functional specifications, use cases, and SDLC documentation.
  • Data analysis skills with ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Advanced SQL and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio).
  • Working knowledge of AI tools to streamline processes; ability to identify opportunities to reduce manual effort; familiarity with AI assistants and willingness to apply them in functional analysis and documentation activities.
  • Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills; collaborative, customer-focused, and able to work independently.
  • CBAP or PMP certification; knowledge of WCAG accessibility and compliance (FERPA, Title IV, IPEDS, Clery, ISO).

Nice to Have

  • Higher Education knowledge (preferred); familiarity with SIS processes, student lifecycle, Fluid UI.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $65,000 - $77,200 per year (USD).
  • This position is onsite at Syracuse University with limited remote work arrangements in accordance with university policy.
  • Standard university business hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm (academic year) or 8:00am – 4:30pm (summer).
