Functional Assessment Assessor II (Autism) Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE)
Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) is a semi autonomous government agency of the Ministry of Education, Kenya. It was established through a Legal Notice No. 17 of 14th February 1986. The Institute is currently run by a council appointed by the Minister for Education. The Head of the Institute is the Director who is also the Secretary to the Council.

Responsibilities

Assess children with special needs and disabilities

Refer children assessed to other service providers

Place children assessed in educational programmes

Provide data on assessment

Train assessment staff in functional assessment

Identify children with special needs and disabilities and recommend for placement in schools and institutions

Create awareness, sensitize and capacity-build teachers, parents and other stakeholders dealing with children with special needs and disabilities

Participate in community outreach service to awareness on disabilities

Qualifications / Work Experience
-
Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution
-
Two (2) years’ experience working in Functional Assessment
