About the Role Rutgers University is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (Medical) to provide direct patient care at Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The role focuses on delivering individualized nursing care in accordance with professional standards to patients and their families within a correctional setting.
What You'll Do
- Administer total patient care based on individual needs, under the nursing standards and supervision as applicable.
- Take vital signs and collect basic health data (e.g., height, weight) and document findings in the electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assist physicians/advanced practitioners and contribute to the clinical team in a correctional healthcare environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure safe, effective care and continuity for incarcerated patients.
What We're Looking For
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- Clinical nursing skills appropriate for medical patients and ability to work within a correctional health care facility.
- Ability to document in EMR and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
