Job title: Full-Time Faculty - Information Technology (AAS Program)
About the Role Join Youngstown State University as a full-time faculty member to teach information technology courses in the AAS program at the Steubenville location. The role focuses on hands-on instruction in topics such as programming, operating systems, databases, networking, and cybersecurity, with a strong emphasis on student success and curriculum development, delivered through on-site classroom and lab experiences.
What You'll Do
- Plan, organize, teach IT AAS courses at Steubenville, deliver instruction in classroom and labs, and contribute to curriculum development and program quality.
- Provide timely feedback to students, maintain regular on-site engagement during standard business hours, and support student success and engagement.
- Communicate with students, departments, and university officials using university tools and participate in the academic life of the institution.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support program growth and quality, and promote student-centered teaching.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, software engineering, or a closely related field, OR a master’s in another field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computing/information technology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence to teach in at least three areas: programming (Python, Java, C++, or similar); web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript); computer networks; databases; cybersecurity; operating systems; computer hardware.
- Preferred: experience teaching college-level courses in programming, web technologies, networks, OS, databases, cybersecurity, computer hardware; industry certifications (Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+/Network+/A+, Oracle Database Foundations); industry IT experience; effective communication and collaboration; commitment to student-centered teaching and continuous improvement.

- Industry certifications (CCNA, Security+, Network+, A+, Oracle DB Foundations); industry experience in IT, programming, web technologies, databases, networking, cybersecurity, or software development; strong communication and collaboration skills; commitment to student success and continuous improvement.
