About the Role The Akuna UI team is seeking Web Software Engineer Interns for a 10-week Akunacademy summer program. You will work with Traders, Quants, and engineers to design, build, test, and maintain real-time trading applications. Interns own their projects and present outcomes at program end. What You'll Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop web applications using React, TypeScript, and Python
- Implement robust unit and integration tests
- Continuously explore technologies to maximize user experience and development efficiency
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development and provide application support as needed What We're Looking For
- Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent; graduating by August 2028; GPA 3.5+
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on day one (including F-1 OPT/STEM)
- Prior finance/trading experience not required; training provided
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork; self-starter; familiarity with Linux/CLI, Git, and testing concepts Nice to Have
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript/Python/HTML/CSS
- Experience with React, unit testing frameworks (pytest, Jest, Storybook)
- Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools
- Experience with Agile/Scrum Compensation & Benefits
- Minimum annual base salary: $145,000
- This is a 10-week internship; location: multiple offices (Chicago, Sydney, Shanghai, Singapore, London); AI-friendly environment; training provided.
