An organization at the forefront of mobility technology is seeking a skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to own the end-to-end development of a single vendor gateway. This critical gateway integrates multiple third-party hardware charging networks and vendor platforms, enabling seamless fleet systems operations. The position involves backend engineering at the intersection of complex external APIs, real-time systems, and fleet-charging domain protocols. The successful candidate will build protocol clients, abstraction layers, onboarding tooling, and robust live service contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate robust backend services and API clients primarily utilizing Python.

  • Develop and maintain charger onboarding and operations user interfaces using React and TypeScript.

  • Create canonical data models and abstraction layers over heterogeneous third-party systems.

  • Build and manage event-driven or streaming systems to feed real-time consumers.

  • Ensure live service reliability through observability, robust retries, and graceful degradation strategies.

  • Own services across the entire stack, including deployment, monitoring, and operations within cloud environments.

  • Integrate REST APIs and webhooks, and query database systems when clean APIs are unavailable.

  • Required Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

  • Experience: Proven backend engineering experience building and operating production services, with a demonstrated ability to design canonical schemas and reconcile inconsistent inputs across various sources.

  • Technical

Skills

  • Proficiency in Python (including modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask, along with async and typing) and React (TypeScript is preferred). Experience with API integration (REST, webhooks, SQL), message queues or streaming systems (such as Kafka), and cloud deployment and monitoring (AWS or GCP, containers, CI/CD) is required.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) for charger-to-central-system communication.

  • Hands-on experience with OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface) for integrating third-party networks.

  • Prior technical experience in energy sectors, telematics, IoT device fleets, or related domains.

  • Fluency in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices, including Infrastructure as Code and automated CI/CD pipelines.
