Job Description

As a Full Stack Software Engineer within our global Commercialization Technology team, this role will help evolve portfolio decision intelligence and governance operations capabilities. Come join a team that is passionate about innovation and making life better with technology!

This position will involve hands-on development across both front-end and back-end technologies, building APIs, ensuring compliance with security best practices, and deploying cloud-native solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, architects, and agile teams to deliver enterprise technology solutions using both low-code platforms and custom full-stack technologies, including Salesforce, React, TypeScript, and modern API frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance front-end and back-end application components using established engineering standards and guidance from senior team members.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web applications using technologies such as Python, React, FastAPI, Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Evaluate business and technical requirements to determine appropriate implementation approaches, including Salesforce declarative capabilities, custom Salesforce development, and custom full-stack web applications.
• Apply hands-on experience with the Salesforce Lightning Platform, including Aura and Lightning Web Components, and core configuration capabilities such as objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, Flows, security settings, and user access.
• Enhance and maintain configured Salesforce products and solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Aura, and Lightning Web Components within Service Cloud, and

• Translate user stories, wireframes, and design specifications into high-quality, reusable UI components.

• Build reusable front-end components and integrate them with backend APIs, databases, and data services.

• Integrate applications with governed enterprise data platforms, relational databases, cloud services, and approved internal or external APIs.

• Develop and contribute to appropriate unit, integration, API, UI, accessibility, security, and data-validation testing as part of the software development lifecycle.

• Create rapid prototypes to validate technical approaches and translate approved concepts into production-ready code.

• Use source control, code reviews, CI/CD, containers, feature flags, backward-compatible releases, monitoring, rollback, and incident-management practices.

• Write clean, reusable, well-documented, secure, and testable code.

• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.

• Monitor and troubleshoot production applications across frontend, API, database, data-integration, cloud, and AI-enabled components; support defect resolution and root-cause analysis.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, API documentation, deployment procedures, and runbooks.

• Contribute reusable components, engineering standards, and continuous improvements that strengthen the broader Commercialization Technology ecosystem.

• Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, UX/design teams, data engineers, QA engineers, and other technology teams.

• Follow Agile practices, contribute to sprint planning and effort estimation, and provide timely status updates.

• Continuously build knowledge of modern full-stack, cloud, AI, and DevOps technologies.

• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changes.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Approximately 5 to 9 years of relevant software development or software engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience serving as a developer or software engineer delivering enterprise software or data solutions
• Ability to independently deliver moderately complex technical assignments while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies, platforms, and business processes
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a software development environment

Functional Skills:

• Must-Have Skills
• Demonstrated ownership of at least one production frontend, backend, API, data-integration, automation, or full-stack component.
• Hands-on experience developing custom web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern front-end framework, preferably React
• Hands-on experience developing backend services and APIs using Python/FastAPI, Node.js, or comparable server-side technologies
• Hands-on experience developing solutions on the Salesforce platform using a combination of declarative capabilities such as Flow and custom development technologies such as Apex and Lightning Web Components
• Working knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and SQL.
• Experience with API integrations and modern application architecture patterns, including serverless and microservices architectures
• Working knowledge of application security concepts, including authentication, authorization, and access controls
• Strong problem solving, analytical skills; Ability to learn quickly; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies
• Ability to create clear technical documentation, including designs, diagrams, configuration instructions, and operational support procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders and collaborate across global, virtual, and cross-functional teams

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade applications within a global, highly regulated healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment
• Experience with cloud-native application development and AWS services
• Experience with containerized application development and deployment using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with DevOps practices, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and source-control platforms such as GitLab
• Experience developing applications that integrate with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks or relational databases
• Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization using enterprise identity technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or SAML
• Experience developing AI-enabled applications or integrating applications with enterprise AI/ML capabilities
• Familiarity with observability, application monitoring, logging, and production support practices
• Ability to evaluate technical approaches and communicate engineering tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
• Working understanding of business operations within Research and Development, Commercialization, Operations, Process Development, Commercial, or Marketing
• Experience working with geographically distributed development teams, vendors, business stakeholders, or managed-service providers

Professional Certifications:

• Agile certification preferred: SAFe for Teams certification or equivalent
• Salesforce certification preferred: Salesforce Platform Developer
• Copado Source Format Pipeline certification preferred
• Relevant certifications preferred in cloud technologies, software development, data engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, Agile, or enterprise platforms
