Job title: Full-stack Laravel Software Engineer
About the Role
Light-it is seeking a Software Engineer with strong Laravel experience to review and refactor existing code, design reliable and reusable components, and enhance performance and usability across customer projects and our Digital Health Innovation Lab. You will collaborate with designers, testers, developers, and product managers to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure systems while continuously identifying improvement opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Review and refactor existing code into high-quality code
- Design reliable and reusable code
- Enhance the performance and usability of applications
- Identify bottlenecks and perform debugging and fixes
- Work with a team of designers, testers, developers, and project and product managers throughout the product lifecycle
- Maintain standards for reliable, scalable, and secure systems
- Develop highly efficient user interface components
- Analyze website performance and drive improvements
- Detect improvement opportunities and discuss them with the team
- Provide support to other software developers and pass on knowledge
- Work on customer projects and internal projects or our Digital Health Innovation Lab
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- Working experience with Laravel and related technologies/frameworks
- Experience using MySQL or PostgreSQL and a non-relational database engine
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Front-end knowledge with React, Vue, Angular, or similar frameworks
- HIPAA/FHIR/HL7 or other healthcare protocols/standards knowledge
- Experience with other back-end frameworks such as Django, Rails, Nest, or Spring
- Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team and operate across the product lifecycle
Nice to Have
- Additional back-end framework expertise (Django, Rails, Nest, Spring)
- Healthcare domain knowledge beyond basics
